PROBLEM SKIN PEELS (Salicylic Acid)

Our Aspect Problem Skin Peel Program is $450 and includes 3 peels and a skin preparation pack.

What is in a Problem Skin Peel?

The Aspect Problem Skin Peel combines 20% Salicylic acid with Beracare AAA. Salicylic acid is a Beta-Hydroxy Acid which is oil soluble and lipophilic. These properties allow Salicylic Acid to penetrate sebum filled follicles and clean out clogged pores. Beracare AAA is used as an anti-inflammatory. Beracare AAA reduces acne, improves oily skin and promotes overall balance to the skin. The combination of these ingredients will target the epidermis, breaking down the glue that holds the skin cells together. This enables a faster cell turn-over, resulting in a more youthful appearance to the skin as the healthier layers of skin are brought to the surface more quickly.

The Problem Skin Peel was developed to improve the health of oily skin prone to acne.

Who is suitable for a Problem Skin Peel?

Problem Skin Peels are suitable for lighter skin types. This type of peel can produce noticeable results for a variety of skin conditions including, aging skin, mild to severe acne, congestion, dull or lifeless skin, and can help thicken skin.

If you have darker skin, you can still have this peel if you are using our Complete Pigment Serum for at least 2 weeks prior to this peel and continually post peel. This is to reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation after the peel.

If you have an allergy to aspirin these peels may not be suited, and we would choose a different peel for your concerns.

Problem Skin Peels can be used in combination with other treatments to enhance the overall effect on the skin. Other treatments to enhance a Problem Skin Peel include LED Light Therapy and Peptide masks. We highly recommend doing a course of LED treatments 2 weeks after each peel to maximise the results.

How do I prepare for a Problem Skin Peel?

When you visit us for a consultation, we can help you to determine which type of peel would be the best fit for your skin and your goals. We will also explain what to expect after your peel, as aftercare is essential for a safe treatment.

The skin needs to be prepared with Aspect Dr home care for a minimum of two weeks prior to the first treatment. This skin preparation pack is included in the cost of the three-peel program and is non-negotiable.

If you have a darker skin type, you may be required to use the Complete Pigment Plus serum for at least 2 weeks prior to this peel to minimise your risk of hyperpigmentation after the peel.

How long does a Problem Skin Peel take?

Your first visit will be around 45 minutes. This allows a full assessment and the first peel treatment. Each additional peel session takes about 20 minutes.

Is there any discomfort with a Problem Skin Peel?

With a Problem Skin peel there is a sensation of moderate warmth while the peel is on the skin. It can be somewhat uncomfortable, and you will be given a fan to use to alleviate this discomfort. This will subside once the peel neutralises.

Remember, everyone has different skin and different levels of tolerance to sensations on the skin.

How often do I need a Problem Skin Peel?

After our Dermal Therapist has assessed your skin, your Problem Skin Peel will be scheduled every 4 weeks. Once you have completed the 3-peel program another assessment is performed. You may be advised to have monthly peels if your concerns are still present. Otherwise, it is recommended to have maintenance peels every 3 months to keep your skin looking its best.

What is included in a Problem Skin Peel program?

Programs begin with a thorough skin diagnosis. Our experienced dermal therapist will advise you if other skin care is needed.

The Aspect Problem Skin Peel Program costs $450 and includes three peel treatments, an Aspect Dr Starter Pack for 2 weeks skin preparation, and aftercare advice. Individual peels are $150. The Starter pack without a program is $135 and is non-negotiable for our medical grade peels. If you are required to use the Complete Pigment Plus Serum, it is an additional cost of $135.

We highly recommend combining this peel with Blue LED Light Therapy to boost your results. Blue LED light therapy effectively kills the bacteria that causes acne. When combined with this peel, Blue LED Light Therapy is only $50 per session (saving you $50 per session).

What is the procedure for getting a Problem Skin Peel?

Problem Skin Peels in Sydney begin with a comprehensive consultation with our experienced Dermal Therapist to assess your skin suitability and identify your concerns. A course of 3 Problem Skin Peels is usually recommended, as a single peel just is rarely enough to correct skin congestion and acne.

It is important to prepare the skin for 2 weeks prior to the first peel with Aspect Dr Skin Care to enable your skin to benefit from the peels, heal quickly and deliver the best results. The Aspect Dr Starter Pack is included in a Problem Skin 3 Peel Package. The combination of skin preparation and 3 Problem Skin Peels will provide great results for most patients.
